The issue here is that one can apply queries to databases but not to
result sets.

Every database defines a universal result set, namely the set of all its
elements. One can define operations on these sets but one can't search
them.

The issue, as I see it, that has been asked is why not replace result set
with database.. namely the result of a search is a database.. and these
one can search.. or simply.. not have, as now, set operations on the result
of queries but have the simple unified "targets".. Its a question now of
sematics.. are the base targets result sets or databases in this paradigm
but the key requirement remains... to be searchable.

I've, I think, argued that I see no need for searchable "Query Products"
and instead like the current set operations on query products view.. I think
its really more powerfull... or lets say more convienient..

Databases are also derived from something.. A collection of databases.. and
their atoms are are elements of records..

Its not reduncant at all.. That would mean that we don't need result sets..
and I'll argue that they are nice to have.. Result sets, of course, are not
enough since one can't search them..
