# character in the PDF file

I'm using fop-0.20.4 and I'm trying to transform an XML file which contains text in Romanian language, into a pdf file.

When I use the FOP viewer and then print as PDF, everything works fine. When I try to transform the xml file directly to pdf with the FOP, some characters are not displayed correctly. Example "þ" is subsituted with  "#".

 

Any clue?
