if the current node is list then an uncle is the child of a grandparent
test="../../desc" (which also includes parent, so you may need to
exclude that case)

This by the way is the wrong list, your question is about XSLT which is
only vaguely related to XSL-FO (the subject of this list) xslt questions
are best asked on xsl-list
