XSL-FO 1.1 draft has perfect facility -- "6.13.7 fo:retrieve-table-marker".
It provides required functionality.

Not sure of existent implementations. May be XSL-FO engine developers share
their plans about "6.13.7 fo:retrieve-table-marker" implementation.
