I am trying to create notes in the margin for out of line comments
for the main text. I have indented my text to provide room for the
notes, I 'just' need to find out how to put the note next to the main
text it refers to.

Would I be correct in thinking that the only facility fo provides for this
would be fo:float. Reading the standard float doesn't really seem
geared towards what I require, perhaps i am confused by the
common usage. Do any implementations support float?

I have tried using tables and lists to achieve the appearance but is
not particularly elegant nor scalable.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Finally, does anyone know of any professionally published books
that used fo to generate a photo ready copy? What about FOP?
