3.3.1 is quite clear what happens to any XML declarations and Doctype statements in the included document, but what about any stylesheet calls - will they be discarded, or will they become embedded in the composite document? If they are embedded must action be taken to restore the stylesheet in force prior to the inclusion when its final node is returned? Martin Bryan
