Dear XML Query Group,

The requirements for an exception mechanism in XQuery may be met by a use of
DOM events.

The HTML and Forms WGs have recently produced a new draft of "XHTML Events"
(someone has already trademarked XEvents alas) which defines a syntactic
representation of DOM Events.

We would be happy if you would consider this draft in the light of your need
for an exception mechanism, and give us feedback on its suitability.

Best wishes,

Steven Pemberton
