To whom it may concern,

from the xml-query requirements and the xml-query-use cases it seems
that no update possibilities will be in the xml-query language?
Something like the sql construct: "update colName values ( colValue) where
....."

In the area of product catalogs you have problem that you want to update a
product catalog. An problem solved by very product catalog vendor by
specifying an update semantics in its own XML format for the product
catalog.

If such an update semantics would be part of xml-query it could help to
standardize that problem domain.

Is there any work in progress in that direction?
