Apparently this list is now exclusively for comments on the XLink and
XPointer specifications as published, with no view to their future
development.

If you'd like to continue this discussion, may I recommend xml-hypertext
at xmlhack.com ?  It's been fairly quiet lately, but it's definitely
open for business.
