Changed Fragment Exchange?

To whom it may concern,

you explicitly specify that it is out of the scope of the XFragment
specification what might happen with the fragment after the "client" has
received it (possibly changed it) and especially what might happen if the
client returns the fragment (changed!).

Is there any activity in progress that might tackle that problem. 
What I am aiming at it is editing, view and 
changing a large document programmatically or with a viewer.
