Async Processing

In the Asynchronous Processing section (section 2.5), the specification
states that the requester "wait for notification" at the end of an initial
request. Could anyone clarify how the requester is notified? Is this throu
some offline mechanism?

Section 2.5.3.3 contains a Notification message which we have trouble
figuring out how that can be done...
