Bjoern, You raised an issue against the "Assigning Media Types to Binary Data in XML" Last Call WD [1] in your email at [2]. This was accepted by the WSD WG as issue 260 [3]. The wg has decided to allow accept extensions. Please find the current draft which contains this change in [4]. Therefore, the wg decided not to specify grouping mechanism and/or values that are specific to the note such as "xml". We hope this change addresses the issue that you raised to your satisfaction.
