This request is outside the current scope of PLS specification which
describes the format of a PLS document. It does not describe how the PLS
document will be activated in another markup.

Your request is more appropriate as an extension of SSML. If you like we
can send this comment to the VBWG group for the SSML specification.

For PLS specification, we will reject the request.

Please indicate whether you are satisfied with the VBWG's resolution,
whether you think there has been a misunderstanding, or whether you wish
to register an objection.

(Not clear whether this is a question about PLS or SSML.) Is it possible
to choose a pronunciation dictionary on the basis oflanguage? For
example, in the case of 


<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><speak version="1.0"
xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/10/synthesis" xml:lang="en-US">'Chat' in
English refers to a conversation, but '<s xml:lang="fr">chat</s>' in
French is the word for 'cat'. </speak>

If not, it would not be possible to distinguish between the two
instances of 'chat' correctly. 


It seems that lexicons are expected to be in one language or another
