The W3C Voice Browser Working Group is glad to announce the publication of the first WD of State Chart XML (SCXML): State Machine Notation for Control Abstraction 1.0 <http://www.w3.org/TR/2005/WD-scxml-20050705/> Abstract: This document describes SCXML, or the "State Chart eXtensible Markup Language". SCXML provides a generic state-machine based execution environment based on CCXML and Harel State Tables. SCXML is a candidate for the control language within VoiceXML 3.0 (currently under development by the Voice Browser working group), CCXML 2.0 (anticipated development in 2006 by the Voice Browser working group), and the multimodal authoring language (under development by the Multimodal Interaction working group).
