Questions regarding some SSML Tags

Hello!

I would like to address some questions on SSML Tags.

1. Firstly in the Voice tag , what does the Name and the variant attributes
do. Are they essential part of the voice tag?

2. In the prosody tag, it is explained that pitch contour comprises of the
interval and the target. What input is user expected to provide in order to
define the pitch contour?
