HTML5 Validation issue

Greetings.
THE PROBLEM: I ran my HTML5 file (created in Notepad++ on HP Pavilion) through the validator. My browser is Chrome.

I have 3 error messages that read: No <p> element in scope but a </p> end tag seen. My file does indeed have opening and ending <p> elements. Why is this happening and what can I do to fix this?
