I may decide to redesign this old site, as long as I can keep its look
similar so the client doesn't notice. Having a page validate does
indeed effect its rankings though, make no mistake. I run an SEO

But as mentioned some of the errors are acceptable. According
to validator.w3.org, Google and Yahoo!
both contain errors (Google doesn't even have much code) - so I don't
take the validator too seriously.
As told to me from one reply HTML 5 is on the horizon and will be more
forgiving, so it's better to wait and let nature take its course and
not fuss over validation!
