I suspect you are running into
http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=4488
which unfortunately we have little power upon. The underlying parser for
the validation of (X)html tends to omit some repeated errors, and I
could never quite figure out why. 

That said, if you fix the first, the next point of error should then be
highlighted.
