Charset+ISO-8859-1

I just checked several  of my webpages that were validated within the last week only to see they had failed!  Reason given was --I think-- a misread of my charset=ISO-8859-1.  The error message reads something like, "can't validate ISO-88059-1" which is NOT what I have.  Is this a temporary glitch in the system or ???
