Strictly speaking, http://validator.w3.org/check is not a "page not  
found" page, it's actually one of the error pages of the validator.  
It does, actually, have a link back to the home page of the  
validator, marked [home] at the top left.

Do you think that link is not visible enough, or perhaps misleading?

The 404 pages, such as http://validator.w3.org/thisisabogusURI also  
have a link to the validator's home - but they certainly could be
