It's rather mysterious indeed. The report seems to refer to a construct 
that appears on line 538 of your source, with a wrong line number and 
nonsensical column number, and no indication of the type of error.
Looks like internal confusion in the validator.

Using the WDG validator
http://www.htmlhelp.com/tools/validator/
gives the report that your page is valid.
