Making installation easier

I'm no expert, but I'm sure there is an easier way of installing the
validator.
I've been using Synaptic on Ubuntu for a while, and I have installed
software with very complex dependencies.
Installing this validator takes the biscuit.
Surely someone can provide a better solution?
