[ANN] W3C Log Validator (v1.0) released

Dear www-validator participants,

I'd like to inform you that a new version of the Log Validator was
released today.

Started as an internal W3C tool to find the most popular documents on
www.w3.org that failed validation, the Log Validator is now a
flexible piece of software which can be used to batch process a large
number of document through the Markup Validator, CSS Validator and
Link Checker. Coupled to step-by-step Web Site strategies, it can be
a very efficient ally in finding documents that need fixing.

Version 1.0 of the Log Validator sees the addition of a "link
checker" processing module. A number of minor bugs are also fixed
with this version, and the documentation has been updated in various
locations.

The log validator works with perl, and is fairly easy to install on
most platforms already running a Web server. Web content managers
will be interested in installing and running it to keep their sites
sharp and clean, while developers will be interested in the modular
architecture, and may want to add other functionalities to the Log
Validator. For more details:

The latest version can be downloaded from:

or (recommended) from CPAN (where 1.0 should land within at most one
day):

Feedback, questions etc. welcome, on this list or to me directly.

Thank you!
