[VE][108] Error Message Feedback

When going through the validator for HTML 4.0.1, several errors are 
returned which have to do with 'element "EMBED" undefined'.

If <embed> has been deprecated or is a proprietary tag or something, 
than is there any HTML compliant way of playing sounds in a page?
