That just serves to show one of the many ways in which Microsoft 
Frontpage is a broken HTML editor.  FP produces invalid markup by 
default and it takes skill in order to keep any code it does produce 
under control.  You will have much more luck by hand coding your 
documents, than you will by trying to lean by using one of the worst 
HTML (tag-soup) editors available.

Switch to Notepad or find another plain text editor that may also 
provide features like syntax highlighting and tag-completion, but which 
does not generate any markup for you.
