message number: #404

hi,

I got message number 404 for code that incorrectly included an ampersand, but the message refers to the less-than sign...

If you wish to include the "<" character in your output, you should escape it as "&lt;". Another possibility is that you forgot to close quotes in a previous tag.

...I'm guessing that either this message was incorrectly triggered, or it should be generalised for &lt; &gt; and &amp;
