Conveniently avoiding the actual question, but something you might find
useful: when a resource to be validated identifies itself as text/css,
the markup validator redirects to the CSS validator, for example:
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fvalidator.w3.org%2Fbase.css
