Recommended Valid HTML check/referer no longer works

This is the text taken from your "valid validation" page:-

However, when users click on that, it now redirects you to
<http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=>

and gives you the message:-

Sorry, this type of URI scheme (undefined) is not supported by this service.
Please check that you entered the URI correctly

Which is embarrassing if you've put the recommended link on all your pages.
