Dear Olivier, I put a copy of my environment here too, in case of future reference. OS10.2.8 UK distribution (6R73) onDarwin 6.8 (according to the Apple System Profiler) Japanese as the main language in System preference. The software I am using to write html is called mi 2.1.3 (http://www.mimikaki.net/en/index.html) Those pages were generated through Cocoon 2.0.4 (binary distribution) with Tomcat 4.1.24 (binary distribution) and Apple Java 1.4.1 The page was displayed in Safari 1.0 v85.6 then saved on my disk (HFS+) as html file, then sent to the Validator.
