Er, change that to:

img { vertical-align: bottom; display: block; }

The reason for this, is at that the default values for images are 
'vertical-align: baseline' and 'display: inline'. According to the 
inline box rules of CSS (which are not very easy to understand), 
Netscape 6 displayed the page correctly.
