You are probably using the wrong DOCTYPE (XHTML?) or you are getting fooled
by the erroneous warnings from Weblint[0] (you can safely ignore these for
now; we need to update Weblint before it is usable).

If that isn't it, you'll have to provide a URL for the document in question
(or email a copy of it to the list (or me off-list, if it's more then a few
tens of lines!)) so we can have a look at it to try to determine the

[0] - Gerald: I'm going to disable Weblint in my local copy of "check".
      This means that all my future patches will reflect that! If you'd
      rather I didn't, let me know! Until Weblint has been updated (and
      possibly even after!), it's inclusion causes more problems then
      it's worth.
