Inefficient validation process

I like checking my documents using the validator at
http://validator.w3.org/, but the process is beginning to to get rather
tedious and I am getting tempted to turn to other validators. The
problem is that for simple web authors like me, "debugging" a document
is an iterative process in which each iteration currently involves 2
steps:

- Do an FTP upload to a server
- Validate

Why doesn't http://validator.w3.org/ offer a form and a "validate"
button, so one could paste a document's contents and validate
immediately?
