Subject: DNS-like format for station names

I recall that somebody created a way of identifying stations and
channels which looked rather like DNS hostnames.  But grepping through
all the docs on the TV Anywhere site I couldn't find it.

Is there a web page describing this scheme or a particular document I
should download?
