---------- Forwarded message ----------
Please consider this message as a very informal one.
Its aim is to inform you on the advancement of the VOICE Project
and more
precisely of the present Project on "Development and
Harmonisation of
Subtitling in European Television Broadcasting".
We are considering several ideas for the organisation of
activities for the
"European Year of People with Disabilities 2003".
As first step we are collaborating with CENELEL in the
organisation of a
European Conference "Television for All" in Seville on 13-14 June
2002.
You'll probably receive more information by CEN-CENELEC-ETSI or
by the
European Broadcasting Union (EBU) or you may contact them or
visit their Web
Sites.
Since the date is approaching, I thought that we could gain some
time by
this message, addressed to an absolutely incomplete and not
updated mailing
list: it just includes some of the addresses of e-mail messages
exchanged in
the last months on topics related to television subtitling.
May I please suggest you to have a look to a new Section in the
VOICE
Project's Web Site that we are preparing:

http://voice.jrc.it/tv

and provide us with information and suggestions for filling in
the table:

http://voice.jrc.it/tv/tables/teletext_e.htm

or modify or extend it. We are considering creating a few more
pages, in
order to cross this table with the elements discussed at the
paragraph
"Technical aspects to harmonise" at the page:

http://voice.jrc.it/tv/tv2002a_e.htm

I'm also worried to avoid rediscovering information already
collected by
others: may you please inform me on any similar overview or
on-going
activity?
Looking forward for your contributions,
yours
