WebIDL v1 vs. v2

Over on public-webapps there is a discussion about trying to advance "WebIDL v1" to REC: https://readable-email.org/list/public-webapps/topic/help-with-webidl-v1

I think it would be disastrous from a web-architecture point of view to give the outdated WebIDL v1 draft any sort of legitimacy. The TAG should probably weigh in on this.
