Norm, I strongly agree with Roy on this too (though I'd note that
he seems to be assuming that "document" = "bag-o-bits" rather than
"timbl:document").  But I wanted to respond to one of your points
anyhow.

Perhaps, but you don't know until you also know that persons and
documents are disjoint (i.e. you're making a closed world
assumption).
