Summary of TAG activity from 4 Dec 2002 to 10 Jan 2003

Dear www-tag,

This is a summary of the TAG's activity from 4 Dec 2002
(end date of the previous summary [1]) to 10 Jan 2003.

The TAG had three teleconferences during this period;
summaries of those meetings are linked from the
TAG home page [2].

1) The TAG discussed the following issues in substance:

       1. uriMediaType-9:
Why does the Web use mime types and not URIs?

       2. namespaceDocument-8:
What should a "namespace document" look like?

For this issue, the TAG has solicited input on www-tag
regarding the RDDL format. The TAG is currently evaluating
          proposals sent to the list.

       3. xmlProfiles-29
When, whither and how to profile W3C specifications in
            the XML Family

       4. URIEquivalence-15
When are two URI variants considered equivalent?

       5. httpRange-14
What is the range of the HTTP dereference function?

Details about discussions and related actions are available in
the meeting minutes linked from the TAG's home page. The TAG's
issues list is available at: http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/ilist
