Correct.  That's definitely semantic content.

No, I suspect paths will be animatable.  All the other shapes that CSS
can express can be
<http://dev.w3.org/csswg/css-shapes/#basic-shape-interpolation> so I
imagine that when we add a path() function we'll define path
interpolation as well, and it'll apply to SVG too.
