In http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG2/changes.html it says

Added the ability to use 'auto' for the
‘x<http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG2/struct.html#ImageElementXAttribute>
’ and ‘y <http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG2/struct.html#ImageElementYAttribute>’attributes
on
‘image <http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG2/struct.html#ImageElement>’.

This is incorrect as the specification actually adds auto for width and
height.
