You'd have to define all sorts of interactions (e.g. what happens if a 
kid of a display:table-row has display:none but also your new property?).

It _might_ be useful, but is it useful enough to justify going through 
the whole spec with a fine-toothed comb fixing all the places where it 
adds complexity?
