[Bug 5081] Animation and pattern examples don't work

I am using the FireFox browser and the animation examples on
http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG11/animate.html do not animate. Examples requiring user
interaction like onclick/onmouseout/onmouseover seem to work fine. 

The pattern example displays the ellipse but no pattern.

PS: I've tried these same cases using the Adobe plugin for Windows Explorer and
they work fine.
