RE: 15.1.2 Navigation

Hi, Chris-

| Hi Doug, good to meet you last week.

Likewise.

| Thanks for the thoughtful discussions on an auto direction algorithm.
| This email is just closing the loop and directing you to what the Tiny
| 1.2 spec did regarding navigation.

Thanks for the followup.

| Firstly, to add a way for the document author to add specific
| directional navigation (linking to a given shape by ID, so
| they can design a system that is intuitive)
|
| and secondly, using document order as a fallback mechanism
| since it gives repeatable results. we agree that it is not a
| preferred mechanism, here its just a fallback so that
| *something* happens rather than focus staying on the same element.

I think that both of these solutions will help, in the case of relatively
static, carefully-authored documents. Obviously they are not ideal, but I
understand the difficulty in finding a programmatic solution. For my part,
I'll keep looking for one; if I find something that is robust, I will report
back so this issue may be better resolved in the future.

I appreciate your consideration of the issue, and I'm satisfied that there
will be some possibility for declarative navigation. I think it's a crucial
issue on mobile devices, and I think that for a large number of cases, this
will do fine.

Regards-
Doug
