First Working Draft of SVG 1.2

Hello,

On behalf of the W3C SVG Working Group I am pleased to announce the
first working draft of SVG 1.2. Unlike SVG 1.1, which adds
modularization but no new elements, attributes or methods, SVG 1.2 is
planned to add new functionality in an evolutionary manner.

Short Table of Contents

1. Text Wrapping
2. Integration with other XML Formats
3. Printing
4. Modifications to the Rendering Model
5. Streaming
6. Painting
7. DOM Enhancements
8. Other new features

There are a lot of editorial questions in this first document and the
SVG WG would greatly welcome feedback about the desirability and
priority of the various features as well as technical comments on the
features themselves.

This document is the first public working draft of this specification.
It lists the potential areas of new work in version 1.2 of SVG and is
not a complete language description. In most cases, the descriptions
in this document are incomplete and simply show the current thoughts
of the SVG Working Group on the feature. This document should in no
way be considered stable. This version does not include the
implementations of SVG 1.2 in either DTD or XML Schema form. Those
will be included in subsequent versions, once the contents of this
language stabilizes.
