Please do not copy this.  It does not work.  The correct
procedure is given in the headers of every message on the
list.  (If the subject had been correctly spelled it might 
have worked but sending to the list is still wrong in this
case, and for nearly every other list.)

(Unfortunately, when some sends and invalid command that looks
like one to get off the list, everyone else trying to get
off thinks it is the right way and issues the same invalid
command to the list.  There was a storm of removes on another
W3C list a few months ago; remove is also not the right
