The SVG working group hasn't addressed beveling directly yet, but only
because we just haven't gotten to it. Some sort of client-side beveling
capability seems like a requirement to me. I would expect it would fit into
the area of filter effects (chapter 15 in current spec:
http://www.w3.org/TR/WD-SVG/filters.html), although probably as a vector
effect rather than a raster effect.
