Good idea! How about

'@FONT-EQUIV' font-name [ font-styles ] ':' font-name [ font-styles ]
                                      [ ',' ... ] ';'

as a possible syntax?

Example:

@FONT-EQUIV "Old Style Roman" : antique, Palatino bold, "Times Roman",
                                Roman, serif;

@FONT-EQUIV Palatino bold : "Times Roman", Roman, serif bold;
