I thought about that; Steve Zilles brought up that vertical-align uses middle
instead of center. But center is used in background-position in both dimensions,
and the 'middle' value of vertical-align doesn't actually center things, it
aligns them to a particular combination of baseline metrics and probably should
have been called 'text-middle'. So I think 'center' is actually the better name
to use here.
