IDPF published the EPUB 3.0 specification this week. The CSS-related sections are here: http://idpf.org/epub/30/spec/epub30-contentdocs.html#sec-css Alternate stylesheet extensions suggested at the Oslo F2F are defined here: http://idpf.org/epub/altss-tags/ There is also a pseudo-class defined here: http://idpf.org/epub/30/spec/epub30-mediaoverlays.html#sec-docs-assoc-style I'm not too clear on the IDPF process, but afaict the spec is in the final stages of review with this publication. ~fantasai
