Actually I never assumed that min-column-width would be calculated from content. I don't think it is a good idea either. I thought about it as a settable property, just like min-width. However if the author has a number in mind that they want to use as minimum column width they should just set column-width to that number and be done...

One problem with 'min-column-width' is that it's hard to give it the right value. The most sensible value would probably be the longest
(unbreakable) word. Or maybe the widest image? This quickly brings us to columns with varying widths. Hmm.
