Oops.  So it turns out I already wrote these up; I was just looking
in the wrong place for them.  They're in section 4.3: Computing
Column Widths: http://dbaron.org/css/intrinsic/#autocolumnbalance

("Computing Table Widths" was intended to be about something else.)
